Tom Cruise attached himself to the MFU movie, guaranteeing that it will happen. Armie Hammer has been cast as Illya, and Alicia Vikander as a new agent not in the TV series.
My friend Lia’s facepunch blog got featured on the official Doctor Who tumblr, leading to a certain amount of flailing which was highly amusing
I have been very busy with work because end of the school year
Every episode from the recent Doctor Who has highlighted the previous Doctors chronologically starting with Hartnell in Rings of Akhaten plus in a very subtle way the TARDIS in Bells of St. John with the possible exceptions of Four and Six. I have been calling shenanigans and predict a Bakery anniversary

Illya wasn’t originally supposed to be in the show.

He was only in like, 3 minutes of the original pilot, and the producers didn’t like him, so they said ‘get rid of the foreign guy’, but the original Mr.Waverly was also foreign and Illya’s actor isn’t actually foreign so they canned the other guy instead, and thank goodness for screw-ups.

The story’s close to this but a little different. David McCallum (that’s his name) IS foreign - from Scotland. But the criteria was “blonde” and there was another blonde. The mixup was intentional because Felton really REALLY wanted a Russian agent and the producers were trying to cover their asses. If you want to know more, a professor named Cynthia Walker (a fan all her life and you’ll see how much) is in the process of publishing her dissertation on The Man From UNCLE. It should come out in time for the 50th anniversary next year.
